Administration of prescribed injectable medication, IV fluids and support with the patient's prescribed treatment plan. This includes the weekly preparation and organisation of oral medication, particularly useful for older adults or people taking several medicines at the same time, where medication errors are more common.
The service includes intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, IV therapy, weekly medication preparation and support with the prescribed treatment plan.
Medication is always administered on the basis of a valid medical prescription. Before any intervention, the nurse confirms the medicine, dosage and route of administration, and records what has been administered.
For treatments involving multiple doses over several weeks, regular home visits can be arranged instead of individual appointments.
